Seniors Small Group

We are reading the book by Gordon MacDonald entitled, “Who Stole My Church?” We will gather twice a month to talk about what is presented in the book and to spend time encouraging and praying for one another. Those who wish may eat lunch together afterwards with the group.

This study will focus on the Ten Commandments and how they apply to modern, everyday living. It will cause us to take a closer look past the obvious points in each commandment. The commandments are not meant to restrict life but to live it to the fullest.

We will be discussing idols of faith, culture, and self. Many times idols are made out of the blessings of God. We just get out of balance and give something too much emphasis. We will be having honest dialogue about the inner workings of our hearts and minds.

Want to improve and protect your marriage? Based on biblical principles, we will look at how husbands and wives can learn to love first, love better, and love unconditionally. There will be video clips from the movie (Fireproof) discussion questions, and weekly devotionals. Bring your Bible with an open mind and heart.

Whether this is your first time getting to know Jesus or you’re just coming back to Jesus, this 9 week Small Group will help you discover Jesus and how He wants to be a part of your everyday life. It will encourage you in the best decision you’ve ever made and get you started in the right direction! As His child, He wants you to learn how to get the most out of life!
Focus Group: Breaking Free: Women Only

This study, written by Beth Moore, (famous author/speaker) is for women only. Is freedom a reality in your life? We will discover the transforming power of Christian Freedom. Based on Isaiah 61:1-4, this in-depth study draws parallels between the captive Israelites and today’s believers. Most Christians today do not fully enjoy the abundant life God intended. God intends for you to know Him, find satisfaction in Him, and experience God’s presence and peace.
This 20 week study (summer and fall quarters) will include one week of video (55 minutes) and one week of discussion and weekly review from the workbook. A workbook is required. Any questions contact Dee Acord at 330.565.0446.
Focus Group: I and II Thessalonians: the Godly Character of a Persecuted Church
Facilitator: Joanne Baltes

Paul wrote these books between the years 50-52 AD and lays down basic theology about righteous living in a decaying culture. We will learn the meaning of portraying our faith, practicing our faith, and proving our faith. We will be encouraged as Paul brings to life clearly the final hope of all believers, both the living and the dead: the coming of the Lord and eternity with God.

Our quilting group is involved in serving the needs of Boardman’s Pregnancy Help Center by making baby quilts for the newborns. This really blesses the new mother as she gathers much needed supplies. The fun, the creativity, the Bible devotions, and the prayer make this a unique opportunity for Small Group fellowship.

Some demand that men tame their masculine nature, while the media constantly bombards men with macho images of violence and lust. Learn how Gods' design for the masculine soul dares men to be as He created them to be.
